LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Richie Hurley scored a career-high five points and Colin Clive added four goals including the game-winner as Siena Lacrosse beat Manhattan 11-8 in its MAAC home opener at Siena Turf Field. Matt Sharp added 11 saves for the Saints which have won eight in a row over the Jaspers.

Nate Barry, Danny Martinsen and Conor Prunty all added three points for Siena (3-7, 1-1) which has won 16 of its last 17 conference home games including six straight.

Siena led 2-0 after the first quarter and never trailed, but pesky Manhattan (2-8, 0-2) hung around. The Jaspers tied things one final time at 6-6 late in the third period, but the Saints scored five of the next six goals to reclaim the lead and put it away.

Siena out-shot Manhattan 41-32 and held a 40-31 edge in groundballs. Casey Dowd continued his recent dominance in the faceoff X, winning 16 of 23 draws and added nine groundballs.

Patrick Hodapp led the Jaspers with a hat trick, while Rich Akapnitis made 11 saves.

The Saints return to action Saturday when they look to get revenge at Canisius in a 1 p.m. faceoff. The Golden Griffins defeated the Saints in last season's MAAC Championship Game.
