Roger Manion is entering his fifth season as the head coach of the Siena men's lacrosse team. Manion is no stranger to the Capital Region. He was previously a player at the University at Albany, and more recently, the head coach of the HVCC men's lacrosse team. Fortunately for Siena, Manion is also familiar with success, his HVCC teams posted a 94 - 49 record and reached the NJCAA Region III tournament in eight of his nine seasons as head coach. Manion also earned individual recognition from the NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year following the 1991 and 1995 seasons. Previous to his head coaching stint with HVCC, he was an assistant coach with the school and was in charge of the defense unit.

Manion's collegiate career began in 1980 at Herkimer County Community College, where he served as team captain. Manion went on to receive his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University at Albany in 1984. He was also a two-year member of the Great Danes lacrosse team.
