Siena Men’s Golf closed out its fall season with an impressive finish at the Lehigh Invitational at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Saints moved up five spots on the final day to finish in a four-way tie for fourth with St. John’s, Lafayette, and MAAC foe Monmouth.
The host Mountain Hawks won their event, holding a 16-stroke margin over rival Bucknell which finished second. The Saints and Leopards, who were tied for ninth through the first 18 of 36 holes, were the biggest movers Saturday. Siena improved its Second Round score by nine strokes as the Saints tied the Hawks for the best finish amongst five MAAC competitors in the 12-team field.
Senior Michael Christifulli tied two others in shooting 69 to represent the lowest score of the tournament. Christifulli, who shot 75 Friday, finished tied for third overall and just one stroke behind co-champions Johnny Hsu and Billy Johns on Lehigh.
Freshman Pudge Williams also concluded a strong fall season by firing a 74 to finish tied for 15th overall.
