Siena Men's Golf finished in 13th place after 36 holes at Binghamton's tightly contested Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, New York. Jake Holt finished four strokes off the lead tied for sixth.
Siena finished the course with a team score of 613 (306 - 307), which trailed the co-leaders Lehigh and St. Bonaventure by 27 strokes. St. Bonaventure won the team tiebreaker to take the title. Binghamton came in third just two strokes off the pace of the 17-team field.
Saint Joseph's Ross Pilliod and Monmouth's Nikolas Maff led all individuals with a 140 score, Maff won the individual tiebreaker. Pilliod recording back-to-back 70's and Maff carding 71-69. Siena's Holt jumped 11 spots on the leaderboard and finished tied for sixth with his 74-70 (144).
Holt tallied one eagle and four birdies en route to carding his 70 on the second day. The carded 70 is one stroke shy of Holt's career best round of 69, which he ironically shot twice - both during first and second round at this same event last year. Junior Jack Bellardini recorded four birdies to shoot a 77 on the day.
The Saints will host St. Bonaventure for The Murray Cup on Tuesday, October 3 at Schuyler Meadows in Loudonville, New York. Tee-time is set for 9 a.m.
