Siena Men’s Golf stands 12th following the first 18 of 36 holes of play at Binghamton’s tightly contested Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, New York. Just 22 strokes separate first place from last place in the crowded 17-team field.
Saint Joseph’s and St. Bonaventure are the co-leaders in a muddled field, with both Lehigh and Monmouth just two strokes off the pace. The Saints shot a First Round score of 306 to trail the co-leaders by 11 strokes and to sit just nine strokes back of third.
Saint Joseph’s Ross Pilliod leads all individuals after carding an Opening Round score of 70. The Saints were led by sophomore Jake Holt who tallied four birdies en route to carding a 74 to sit just four shots off the lead. Freshman Jack Brown added a pair of birdies while shooting 76.
Final Round action tees off Monday morning at 9 a.m.
