The Siena men's golf team completed the ECAC Championship with a third place finish. The Saints had two individuals place in the top ten and four in the top 15. Michael Shine led the pack for Siena, shooting a final round 74 to put him in seventh place. Scott Kim shot a final round 77 and tied for eighth place overall.
Fairfield brought home the tournament championship. After surrendering their first round lead, Bryant would finish in second. Siena would follow the Bulldogs and finish in third. Massachusetts-Lowell and Saint Francis College (N.Y.) would round out the field.
Siena Head Coach Steven Jensen believes improvements need to be made.
"Our play today was not up to our standards," said Jensen, who is in his first year with the team. "We had too many big scores on holes."
But he believes the team will make the necessary changes for the following competitions.
"We will work out those mental mistakes and we will be ready for our next tournament," said Jensen.
The Saints return to the course on Oct. 12 when they travel to Storrs, Conn. to compete in the Connecticut Cup.
