After a strong first round performance, the Siena Men’s Golf team finds themselves in third in the ECAC Championship being played at The Club at River Oaks in Sherman, Conn.

Bryant has the first round lead while Fairfield is two shots behind the Bulldogs. The Saints would round out the top three after day one.

Scott Kim led the Saints in round one, posting a one-over 72. Individually, Kim is in seventh place. Next in line for Siena was Michael Shine. He finished the round one stroke back of Kim shooting a two over 73.

Michael Christifulli, Jack Bellardini and Tanner Donovan would round out the scoring on the day for Siena.

Even though Siena is in the top three after day one, Shine thinks there is room for improvement.

“The team left a lot of shots out there on the par fives,” said Shine. “We look to attack those holes tomorrow and finish out our last few holes strong since they spoiled some good rounds today.”

The Saints are back on the course Tues. Sept. 29 for the second and final round of the ECAC Championship.
