Men’s Golf Competes in Day One of Wexford Plantation Invitational

Defending MAAC champion Siena Men’s Golf opened up its spring season on Monday at the Wexford Plantation Invitational in Hilton Head, SC. The Saints are currently in 16th place in the team standings.

As a team, the Saints shot +24 on the opening day. Akron and Gardner-Webb are tied atop the team standings at +9 for the first round. Siena is just three strokes back of 15th place team Presbyterian and just five strokes out of 12th.

Individually, freshman Jake Holt led Siena with a 74, two shots over par. Holt is tied for 19th place overall after the round. Sophomore Jack Downey was second-best for the Saints in the opening round. Downey shot a 76, four shots over par, and is tied for 29th. Jack Lang from Davidson leads the field at two under par after shooting 70 on Monday.

The Saints will begin the final round of the Invitational at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28.
