#SienaMadness Tonight at the ARC - 9 PM

Oct. 9, 2012

For the first time since 1998, Siena will hold an on-campus event patterned after Midnight Madness. #SienaMadness will take place tonight at 9 p.m. on UHY Court in the Alumni Recreation Center.

Highlights of #SienaMadness include: introduction of the men's and women's teams, a slam dunk exhibition by the men's team, on-court competitions, a performance by the Siena cheer team, and free Papa John's pizza for all attendees served by the two teams.

The Fly 92.3 Street Team will be on-site with music and giveaways. Men's basketball public address announcer Scott Noel will serve as master of ceremonies.

The event is geared toward students, but open to the general public. No admission will be charged.

#SienaMadness will serve as the final opportunity for students to purchase a Dog Pound membership. For $35, students receive tickets to 10 home men's games and a Dog Pound T-Shirt.

One lucky Siena student will have the opportunity to shoot a half court shot for a $1,000 gift certificate to Crossgates Mall courtesy of CDTA. The contestant will be randomly chosen through a contest being run at facebook.com/SienaSaints.

Students will be entered for a chance to compete in an on-court shooting contest alongside their favorite Siena men's or women's player by tweeting a short message explaining why they should be selected that uses the hashtag #SienaMadness.

The Siena men's and women's basketball seasons open Friday, November 9 at Times Union Center. The women's team will play host to Fairleigh Dickinson at 5 p.m., and the men take on 2012 America East Champion Vermont at 7 p.m.
