Siena released its 2014 men's basketball non-conference schedule today, a nine-game slate that tips off Friday, November 14 at UMass.

"Obviously, it's another really tough schedule," Siena coach Jimmy Patsos said. "The first thing that jumps out at you is three Atlantic 10 teams on the road, the sixth rated conference in the country last year (by RPI). Albany, Bucknell and Vermont are proven programs with recent major national postseason experience, Radford won a game in the CBI last year (96-92 at Oregon State), and Cornell and Loyola are going to be much-improved. We're going to need our fans to show up and support us."

The Saints home-opener is Monday, November 17 against Vermont at 7 p.m. at Times Union Center. The Catamounts have won at least 21 games each of the last six seasons and played in the 2014 NIT (lost 63-56 at Georgia) after winning the America East Regular Season Championship. Vermont has defeated Siena four straight seasons including wins at Times Union Center in 2010 and 2012.

Siena then hits the road for three straight games. The Saints will try to retain the Franciscan Cup at St. Bonaventure (November 19), travel to Baltimore to take on Jimmy Patsos' former Loyola team (November 29) and battle Fordham in the Bronx (December 1).

The annual battle for the Albany Cup will take place Saturday, December 13 at Times Union Center as part of a doubleheader with the Siena and UAlbany women's teams. The Great Danes won their second straight America East Championship in 2013 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

The final road non-conference game is a BracketBuster return trip to upstart Radford December 19. The Highlanders won 22 games last season and figure to be a favorite in the Big South conference led by 2014 First Team All-Conference pick senior Javonte Green (16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds per game).

Ivy League foe Cornell comes to town for the traditional pre-Christmas game at Times Union Center Tuesday, December 23, and Bucknell follows to close out the non-league campaign Sunday, December 28.
