Former Siena Saint, Ryan Rossiter is heading to Japan where he will play for Tochigi Brex of the National Basketball League (NBL). The team formerly competed in the Japan Basketball League (JBL) where they finished with a record of 13-29 in 2013. In June of 2012 the Japan Basketball Association announced its intention to replace the JBL with the new National Basketball League (NBL) as the top professional league in Japan.
"I'm very excited to start my new season in Japan, I will be playing for Tochigi Brex," said Rossiter. "I spoke to their point guard (Yuta Tabuse) who played in the NBA and D-League a bit and he has been with the team and really sold me on the situation."
Rossiter who leaves on Tuesday to begin his new journey, is prepared as he takes his game to a new country.
"Management has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable with any concern I may have had," Rossiter said. "I don't know too much about the league or team but from what I do know the city really cares about the team and supports them all season. I'm looking forward to getting back on the court for another season".
