LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- For the 19th consecutive season, Siena ranked in the top-100 nationally in Division I men's basketball attendance. The Saints ranked 87th amongst 346 Division I programs according to the 2015-16 NCAA Men's Basketball Attendance Report, drawing an average of 6,269 fans over 17 home dates.
Siena's total attendance of 106,580 during the 2015-16 season was the program's highest mark in five years at the Times Union Center, since drawing 114,383 spectators to Albany during the 2010-11 campaign. This past season also marked the 10th time that the Saints saw in excess of 100,000 fans pass through the Times Union Center turnstiles since the men's basketball program made the full-time move downtown beginning in the 1997-98 season.
Siena increased its average attendance for the third consecutive season, and the Saints average of 6,269 fans exceeded notable major conference programs such as Arizona State, DePaul, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, Oregon State and TCU. Siena drew an average of 6,559 fans for its 14 regular season home dates, an average that would have ranked the program 78th nationally and eclipsed Baylor, Mississippi State and Missouri.
A total of 14,761 fans cheered on the Saints for the team's two MAAC Tournament games and College Basketball Invitational matchup vs. Morehead State. The Times Union Center and Siena have hosted the past two MAAC Tournaments, and will continue to do so through 2019.
In 2009-10, Siena established a new program record with 133,505 fans (an average of 7,853) for 17 home games. Siena ranked 66th nationally in attendance that year, tying for its highest national ranking ever (2002-03). That season's 2010 MAAC Championships drew a record 53,569 fans, highlighted by a crowd of 10,679 for Siena's overtime victory over Fairfield in the title game.
Siena has drawn a grand total of 2,182,285 fans (an average of 6,573) over 332 dates at the Times Union Center since playing its first home game in the facility during the 1990-91 season. The Saints welcomed their 2-millionth fan on Dec. 23, 2014 against Cornell, and have drawn crowds in excess of 10,000 on 33 occasions. Siena boasts a 222-110 (.669) all-time record at the Times Union Center, including a 197-88 (.692) mark since making the full-time move to the facility in 1997-98.

Expectations are high entering the 2016-17 season for a Siena Basketball program which achieved a 10-win improvement this past year which was tied for the 12th best nationally. The Saints are expected to return their top-five scorers and nearly 88% of their scoring from a squad which won 21 games and was rewarded with a national postseason tournament berth to the College Basketball Invitational.
