The Siena men's basketball received the red carpet treatment at the New York State Capitol Wednesday, shaking hands with senators and receiving a standing ovation from the Assembly. The team was invited to tour the Capitol and receive recognition for its 2014 CBI Championship.

"I'm sure glad we decided to be in the CBI," Jimmy Patsos told Capital Region media members in attendance. "This is great for the players."

Senator Neil D. Breslin (D - 44th District) introduced the resolution that was to be formally read and adopted later Wednesday afternoon, and extended the invitation.

The team arrived at the State Capitol building shortly after 11 a.m. where they met with Breslin and other senators and posed for photos on the famed million dollar staircase. They were then ushered inside the Assembly Chambers where they witnessed the assemblymen work and ultimately were formally introduced, welcomed and congratulated.
