Top Rebounder Nears End of College Career
March 7, 2013
Last year, Siena's O.D. Anosike won the national rebounding crown, and this season, as his team limps into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament with a 7-23 record, he's locked in a tight battle with Colorado's Andre Roberson to defend that title. As an outgoing senior, Anosike is in his last days as a collegiate player before a likely career as a professional, whether that be in the N.B.A. or elsewhere. The former Wagner and Fordham coach, Dereck Whittenburg, recruited him in high school and recently said that "he's going to play somewhere" for a paycheck, because "he's an outstanding rebounder and you can always use that on somebody's team."
