Junior Rob Poole was named to the MAAC Third Team and freshmen Lavon Long and Marquis Wright landed spots on the MAAC All-Rookie Team today. The awards were announced during a noon conference call with the league's coaches.

Poole, a Preseason Third Team All-MAAC pick, averaged 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 33.8 minutes per game. He shot 42% from the field and 37% from three-point range. Poole ranks in the top-20 in the MAAC in scoring (13th), rebounding (20th), free throw percentage (11th), three-pointers made (15), three-point percentage (16th) and minutes played (9th). He reached double figures in 23 of Siena's 31 games, and recorded his benchmark 1,000th career point in Sunday's win over Monmouth, becoming the 40th Siena player to do so and just the 15th to accomplish the feat in three years.

Long and Wright become finalists for the MAAC Rookie of the Year Award which will be announced during the conference's Postseason Awards Show at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. Friday at 5 p.m.

Long averaged 9.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and started 29 of the Siena's 31 games. He was perhaps the most consistent Siena player this season, reaching double figures 17 times without surpassing 16 points. He posted double-doubles in Siena's losses at Iona and Marist.

Wright will likely become the first freshman to lead the MAAC in assists in at least 20 years. He averaged 8.9 points, a conference-best 5.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game this season and 9.5 points and 6.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds per MAAC game. Wright was perhaps the most important player for a Siena team that exceeded expectations. He reached double figures in eight of the last 14 games and had 10 or more assists four times this year. Wright also shot 44% from the field and was sixth in the MAAC with 34.7 minutes per game. Wright's 1.7 steals ranked second in the MAAC and his 1.8 assist/turnover ratio tied for second.

Siena opens play in the MAAC Championships Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in a Quarterfinal match with No. 4 seed Canisius.
