ALBANY, N.Y. - Bill Beauvais took the biggest shot of his life on Sunday when he took aim from half court at the Times Union Center as this season's finalist of the Northeastern Fine Jewelry $25,000 Shooting Stars Contest. Unfortunately for Beauvais he missed the shot, but still received a $1,000 gift card to Northeastern Fine Jewelry as a consolation prize.

Beauvais was one of 13 fans randomly selected at Siena men's basketball home games during the regular season to participate in the Northeastern Fine Jewelry $25,000 Shooting Stars competition.

Each fan selected had 45 seconds to score as many points as possible from designated areas on the court. Beauvais racked up 400 points during his shooting session on January 11.

As the top scorer, Beauvais earned the opportunity to shoot for the grand prize of $25,000 in cash during Sunday's match up between Siena and Marist.

Beauvais, 37, has been a Siena season ticker holder since moving to Albany in 1996 after graduating from Clarkson University. A native of Westport, NY, Beauvais played on the basketball team at Seton Catholic Central High School.

The $25,000 Shooting Stars Contest is sponsored by Northeastern Fine Jewelry, the official jeweler of Siena Athletics.
