Adam Chaskin, assistant coach at Siena College, has been appointed to coach the USA Juniors Boys' Basketball Team at the 13th European Maccabi Games in Vienna, July 2011. Chaskin served as a Coach in the 14th and 15th World Maccabiah Games in Israel, as well as the 8th Pan American Maccabi Games in Argentina. He has also been involved with the JCC Maccabi program for 20 years and is active with the Albany JCC Team.

Chaskin has had numerous other coaching experiences which include Head Coach of the Washington DC Area All-Star Team that competed in Belgium in 1995, Assistant Coach at Elon College from 1997-99 where he assisted the Phoenix in their successful transition to NCAA Division I, Assistant Coach at North Carolina A&T 1999-2002, and Assistant Coach at University of North Carolina Greensboro from 2002-2005. He was appointed as Assistant Coach for Siena College in 2005. "I am extremely excited, and it is an honor to be appointed the Head Coach of the Juniors Boys' Basketball Team that will be traveling to Vienna this summer", Chaskin said. The Games are an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go to Vienna with our Team and have a great time, both on and off the court. Being previously involved with Maccabi left such a great impression on me that I am honored to have remained involved."

Chaskin's love of coaching and familiarity with the Maccabi Games will be an added bonus for his team. He expects to field a team that will play unselfishly, care incredibly for each other and compete together to perform as well as possible during the Games. Interested athletes should visit the Maccabi USA website at www.maccabiusa.com to learn more about eligibility, download the application, and apply for the team.
