Sophomore Evan Hymes was named MAAC co-Player of the Week Monday after averaging 25.5 points and 5.5 assists against Niagara and Marist. He shares the honor with Niagara's Juan'ya Green.

Hymes was the catalyst for a Siena's offense that played two of its three highest scoring games of the season in 48 hours. He shot 62% (13-21) from the field, 70% (7-10) from 3-point range and 95% (18-19) from the free throw line.

Hymes dropped 30 points for the second time in his young career in Siena's narrow loss to first place Niagara and added six assists. He scored 12 of his 30 during a late second half run that helped Siena cut a 12-point lead to a single point with less than two minutes to play.

Hymes then had 21 points and five assists in the Saints' win at archrival Marist. Hymes' three 3-pointers came during a decisive stretch at the beginning of the second half that helped Siena push its lead to 15. Hymes sealed the win by grabbing a key rebound with 26 seconds left and Siena up just 3.

Green shared the award despite averaging 11.5 fewer points per game than Hymes and being out-scored 30-19 in the head-to-head battle at Times Union Center. The Purple Eagles floor general did average 9.5 assists and 7.0 rebounds in leading his team to two road wins.
