NIAGARA FALLS, NY (AP) - Daryl Greene made a free throw with 1.9 seconds
left to lift Niagara to a 74-73 come-from-behind win over Siena on Saturday.
The Purple Eagles (9-11, 5-4 MAAC) used a 12-2 run in the first half to
stake a 16-12 lead. Justin Miller's back-to-back baskets keyed a 9-0 Saint
(9-13, 6-4) run to put Siena up 30-24. The Saints led 39-37 at the half.
David Brooks' drive put Niagara back up 51-49. The Purple Eagles used a 12-4
run to extend their lead to 61-53 with ten minutes to play. The Saints used a
11-3 run to pull within a point at 69-68.
Greene beat the clock with a jumper to put the Purple Eagles up 71-68 with
1:09 to play. Miller missed consecutive layups, and the Saints missed all three
of their free throw attempts before Mark Price tied the game.
Greene and James Reaves led Niagara with 18 points each.
Dwayne Archbold led Siena with 17 points. Prosper Karangwa scored 14 points
and Miller chipped in 10 off the bench.
