Head coach Tony Rossi announced the second new addition to his coaching staff this week, tabbing Pat Carroll as an assistant coach. Carroll will work with Siena's positional players, overseeing their development at the plate and in the field.

"I am pleased to welcome Pat into the Siena family as a member of our coaching staff," Rossi said. "I believe he is a real star in the making and will have a tremendous impact on our program. His enthusiasm, intelligence, knowledge of the game, playing experience, familiarity with the Northeast, and his contacts throughout the high school and junior college circuit will be a tremendous asset for us. Our players will love Pat and be excited to work with him. Recruits will respond to his genuineness and positive attitude."

Prior to his arrival at Siena, Carroll served eight years as head coach at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3). As TC3's first head coach in 25 years he steadily grew the program, leading the Panthers to the Region III playoffs for the first time ever in 2010, and earning Mid State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors.

In the summers of 2010 and 2014 Carroll worked in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), first in 2010 for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles as pitching coach and then in 2014 as an assistant coach with the Cortland Crush.

Prior to arriving at TC3, Carroll was an assistant coach at Herkimer County Community College in 2005, helping lead the Generals to a school-record 21 wins and a spot in the NJCAA Region III playoffs.

Carroll played at Herkimer in 2001 and 2002 before transferring to Ithaca College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in sociology in 2004. During his time on South Hill the Bombers went 58-21 and reached the NCAA playoffs both years under the leadership of legendary Ithaca coach George Valesentes.
