2013 MAAC Player of the Year Mike Fish (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) was drafted in the 32nd Round Saturday by the Los Angeles Angels, becoming the 13th Siena student athlete picked in Major League Baseball's First Year Player's Draft since 1996.

Fish led the MAAC in home runs (12), hits (81), runs scored (54), total bases (136) and slugging percentage (.602), ranked second in the league in RBI (50) and doubles (17), and ranked fifth in average (.358) as a senior. He helped the Saints reach the MAAC Championship game for the second time in three years this season.

The pick set Twitter ablaze midday Saturday, as the Angels aquatic outfield already includes reigning Rookie of the Year Mike Trout.

Fish will try to join Billy Harrell, Gary Holle, Tim Christman and John Lannan to become the fifth major leaguer in Siena history.

Should he sign, Fish would become the 40th former Saint to ink a professional baseball contract.
