Following their historic win in the NCAA Tournament, Siena Baseball placed four members on the All-Fort Worth Regional Team. Vincent Citro, Justin Esquerra, Matt Gage and Dan Swain all earned honors for the Saints which tied regional champion TCU for the most All-Region selections.
Siena went 1-2 at the Fort Worth Regional, eliminating regional No. 2 seed and 28th ranked Dallas Baptist 9-8 in 10 innings Saturday. It marked the Saints' first-ever NCAA Tournament win in just the program's second appearance and fourth all-time regional contest.
The Saints also nearly upset Tournament host and 16th ranked TCU, falling 2-1 in 11 innings Friday before being eliminated from the regional with a 9-2 defeat at the hands of Sam Houston State Sunday.
The MAAC Tournament MVP, Citro hit a team-high .357 at the Fort Worth Regional and delivered the game-winning RBI in the Saints' historic win over the Patriots.
Esquerra hit .308 over the weekend while Swain, the MAAC Rookie of the Year, hit at a .333 clip and led the Saints in both RBI (four) and doubles (two).
Gage was tremendous in the opener against TCU, pitching the first nine innings allowing just six hits and one earned run while striking out five.
Outfielder Boomer White of TCU was named the All-Fort Worth Regional MVP after leading the top seeded and host Horned Frogs to a perfect 3-0 record and berth in the Super Regionals.
In addition to making the program's second NCAA Regional Appearance and capturing their first Tournament win, the Saints finished their historic 2014 season with a 27-33 overall record and won the program's fifth MAAC Championship.
