Freshman pitcher Ed Lewicki has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week after three stellar performances on the hill in a 3-2 week for the Saints that included a huge series win at Marist.

Lewicki posted a 1-0 record in three relief appearances without allowing an earned run. He picked up the victory in the Saints' come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Marist in the second game of their MAAC series, working 4.2 innings out of the pen, and allowing just two hits and an unearned run while striking out four.

The following day, Lewicki pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, sacrificing just one hit and keeping the game tied well into extra innings. He began the week with an inning of relief in Siena's win over NYIT, giving up two hits and an unearned run. In total, Lewicki pitched 9.1 innings, and allowed just five hits and two unearned runs with five strikeouts.

Lewicki leads the Saints with a 1.85 ERA this season, and has not allowed an earned run in 11 innings of MAAC work.

Lewicki and the Saints have a busy week. They travel to play a doubleheader at Cornell Tuesday, host Fairleigh Dickinson Wednesday and Saint Peter's in a three-game league set Saturday and Sunday.
