Siena extended its win streak to seven games with a 14-8 non-league win over Holy Cross Wednesday in Loudonville. Justin Esquerra and Dave Hoffmann each had three hits for the Saints.

Siena (14-24) hosts Fairfield in a three-game MAAC set this weekend. The Saints are in first place in the conference with a 10-2 record, the Stags are in third place at 10-4.

Esquerra homered in the first to tie the score 1-1 and had a two-run single as part of a six-run sixth that broke the game open.

The Crusaders led 3-2 after Andrew Barry's two-run homer in the fourth, but Vincent Citro's two-run, two-out single in the bottom of the frame highlighted a four-run rally that gave the Saints the lead for good.

The two teams combined to use 14 pitchers and 373 pitches were thrown. There were 12 walks and four hit batters in the three hour and 15 minute game.

Rick Morales started and worked the first three innings allowing just one unearned run for the Saints. Taylor Ahearn pitched a one-two-three fifth, Chris Amorosi worked 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to preserve the lead late and Neil Fryer didn't allow a hit while striking out two in the ninth.

Six different Siena players had multi-hit games. John Rooney, Dan Swain, Tyler Martis and Citro each had two hits.
