The Purple Eagles scored 26 runs on 22 hits to beat conference rival Siena 26-2. Niagara jumped on top early in the game, scoring seven runs in the first inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead.
Niagara's tri-captain Josh McCurdy was 3-for-7 on the day with six RBI's. Niagara would never look back as they scored runs in six of their eight offensive innings.
Sean Haggerty allowed only one earned run in six full innings of work. His only earned run came on a solo home run hit by junior second basemen Kevin Roberts.
Niagara received hits from 13 of 14 players, five of them had multi hit games.
Senior catcher Mark Bomar led the way for Niagara in the hits category compiling four in six at bats. Vince Ircandia was 3-for-5 on the day with five RBI. Other Purple Eagles having multi-hit games were Reed Eastley (2-3, 3BB), Tim Fitzgerald (Orchard Park, NY- 2-3), Matt Schaefer (Clifton Park, NY- 2-2), and Josh McCurdy (3-7, 6 RBI's).
With the Victory Niagara improves to 8-6 in the MAAC and 16-16 overall. Siena falls to 7-7 in the MAAC and 8-27 overall.
