LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (www.gobroncs.com) - The Broncs split a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday with Siena, with both games going extra innings. The third game of the series is Sunday at 12 noon.

In the first game, junior Jonathan Rehm led off the bottom of the 11th inning with a single, stole second, and scored on a two-out single by senior Sean Whalen.

Senior Eric Weiner started and struck out 11 in 10 innings. Senior Joe Ambler pitched the 11th inning for the victory.

Siena wasted a strong pitching performance from Ryan Bitter, who struck out nine and allowed just two hits and left the game tied at 0-0.

In the second game, Siena (6-11, 1-1 MAAC) took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly. The Broncs (6-10, 1-1 MAAC) tied the score in the fourth inning when senior Scott Rich stole home.

Siena scored four runs in the 10th inning on four hits and a Rider error.

Freshman pitcher Mike Dyszel started the second game for the Broncs, allowing one run on four hits while striking out four and walking two in six innings of work.

Rider managed just four hits in each game. Rehm had two of those hits.
