The Siena baseball team captured the series finale with Charlotte, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon to take two out of three games played while in North Carolina.
Thomas Bowker paced the 49ers with two hits both home runs and three RBI. While Eric Hildenbrand led Siena with two hits and three RBI.
Charlotte jumped out to an early 1-0 when Cory Lane scored on Jamie Rusco's two-out double to center field in the first inning.
Siena increased their lead to 3-1 when Matt Gidaly scored on Hildenbrand's double down the left field line in the fourth inning.
The 49ers cut Siena's lead in half when Bowker connected on his first home run of the game over the left fiel wall in the fifth inning.
Siena answered with two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Gidaly and Lou Gattozzi scored on Hildenbrand's two-out single to center field in the inning.
Bowker closed out the scoring with a mammoth two-run blast over the left field wall in the ninth inning.
The Saints will next travel to New Orleans, La. on February, 28 to take on New Orleans.
