GENERAL: A tall right-handed pitcher with a fastball that touches 90 miles per hour...Versatile talent who pitched and played outfield in high school...Showed great improvement as sophomore year advanced. AS A SOPHOMORE:Made nine appearances and three starts, posting a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings of work...Allowed just one earned run in nine innings of work in last five starts of the season (after team returned north)...Pitched three scoreless innings to earn first collegiate win at Cornell (4/17).

AS A FRESHMAN:Made three appearances, including one start...Went 0-1 with a 19.29 ERA in 2 1/3 innings pitched...Did not allow an earned run in his collegiate debut at Dayton (3/18).

BEFORE SIENA:A two-time letter-winner at Old Bridge High School...A two-time Coaches Award recipient, and a two-time All-County selection...Was also a two-year member of the swim team and a one-year member of the soccer team.

ROSSI ON MEINDL: "Jim showed some improvement over his freshman season, but there is still room to grow. He is coming off a summer where he did a lot of pitching and gained much-needed reps, and came back this fall much improved. He has an electric arm and the hope is that he figures it out and has a breakout season, where he can give the staff quality innings."
