GENERAL:Co-captain...Local product with a high 80's fastball and an exceptional baseball heritage...Lanky pitcher with a lively arm, good mechanics and very high ceiling...Solid command on all four pitches with an outstanding changeup...Figures to again compete for a starting weekend job, perhaps in the front of Siena's rotation...Named a top-30 prospect in Perfect Game Baseball Collegiate League's Great Lakes Region after a solid summer with Southern Ohio Copperheads.

AS A SOPHOMORE:Started 15 games...Went 6-6 with a 3.29 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 87.2 innings pitched...Won four of his last five decisions...Allowed more than three earned runs in a start just once all season...Blanked Fairleigh Dickinson for 6 1/3 innings (3/12), allowing just three hits and fanning six batters...Threw seven shutout innings at Niagara (4/22), leading the Saints to a 3-0 win...Tied a career-high with eight strikeouts in just six innings at Saint Peter's (5/14)...Threw eight strong innings against Canisius in the MAAC Tournament (5/28), allowing two runs on just six hits in the victory.

AS A FRESHMAN:Took the mound in 16 games, with 13 starts...Went 4-5 with an 8.16 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched...Earned his first collegiate win at South Alabama (3/6), allowing one run on five hits in eight innings...Struck out season-high eight hitters at NYIT (3/20)...Earned clutch victories over Saint Peter's (5/9) and Fairfield (5/15) as Siena was pushing for a spot in the MAAC Tournament.

BEFORE SIENA:Exceptional athlete, lettering in four sports...Named All-League as a junior and senior, and Third Team All-State as a senior...Was also named an All-League basketball player and Male Athlete of the Year for Hudson High...Uncle, Mickey, played professionally for the Seattle Mariners and is currently a professional hitting coach...Cousin, Michael, is currently in the Cleveland Indians organization.

ROSSI ON BRANTLEY: "Justin had an off year last season and needs to bounce back strong for this club to be successful. He has a tremendous upside, and he's been working hard to get to top form. The staff is counting on him to bounce back and have a breakout year. The hope is he will be a major force for us, and emerge as one of the top pitchers on the staff, if not in the conference."
