Siena traveled to Orlando to face Central Florida

GENERAL: A tall right-handed pitcher with a fastball that touches 90 miles per hour...Versatile talent who pitched and played outfield in high school...Showed great improvement as sophomore year advanced.

AS A JUNIOR:Made 14 appearances posting a 1-0 record and a 5.86 ERA in 27.2 innings pitched with 20 strikeouts... In first two outings of the season he gave up no hits in relief in losses at UCF (2/17) and William & Mary (2/24)... In only start of the season he struck out six and surrendered only one earned run in an 8-1 victory over NYIT (4/9).

AS A SOPHOMORE:Made nine appearances and three starts, posting a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings of work...Allowed just one earned run in nine innings of work in last five starts of the season (after team returned north)...Pitched three scoreless innings to earn first collegiate win at Cornell (4/17).

AS A FRESHMAN:Made three appearances, including one start...Went 0-1 with a 19.29 ERA in 2 1/3 innings pitched...Did not allow an earned run in his collegiate debut at Dayton (3/18).

BEFORE SIENA:A two-time letter-winner at Old Bridge High School...A two-time Coaches Award recipient, and a two-time All-County selection...Was also a two-year member of the swim team and a one-year member of the soccer team.

ROSSI ON MEINDL: "Jim continues to show improvement on the mound but still has room to grow. He is coming off a fine summer where he did a lot of pitching and gained much needed reps heading into this season much improved. He has an electric arm and the staff hopes he puts it all together and has a breakout senior season, where he can add quality innings."
