GENERAL: A skilled centerfielder with great range and an accurate throwing arm...Routinely steals extra base hits in the gaps of spacious Siena Field...Has the ability to hit consistently for average and runs the bases well with exceptional speed...Improved his offensive game tremendously as a junior.

AS A JUNIOR: Was a hallmark in the Saints' lineup, starting 45 games and appearing in 49...Also started in each of the Saints 24 MAAC regular season games ...Enjoyed a successful season offensively, posting a .270 batting average with 38 hits and 26 runs...Blasted four home-runs, tying him for second on the team in that category...Was a force to be reckoned with against left-handed pitching, as he hit .406, with 13 hits.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Appeared in 45 games, making 34 starts...Batted .252 with 17 runs, 12 RBI and five stolen bases...Finished the season on a tear batting .380 with 19 hits in final 50 at bats...Had two hits, a homerun and five RBI against Iona (4/24)...Was third on the team with a .333 batting average in MAAC games.

AS A FRESHMAN: Played a stellar centerfield owning a .982 fielding percentage with 100 putouts and 12 assists...At the plate, he had two homeruns and a triple while batting .144...Also saw action on the mound, where he stepped in to pitch during weekday games late in the year...Tossed 16.2 innings, starting three games...Named MAAC Rookie of the Week after a notable performance against Cornell as he picked up his first collegiate win as a pitcher.

IN HIGH SCHOOL: As a junior and senior at St. John's Baptist, Gidaly was selected All-League, All-League Academic, All-Long Island...Named CHSAA Pitcher of the Year as a senior and First Team All-Long Island as selected by Newsday...As a student, Gidaly was a member of the National Honor Society...Helped lead Mickey Mantle team to World Series Championship in Texas...Played for the Long Island Empire State Games Team earning two gold medals.
