Siena at Central Florida

Siena traveled to Orlando to face Central Florida

GENERAL: Corner infielder who will transition to first base this season...Has a quick bat and hits for contact and power...Smooth swing and good offensive potential.

AS A FRESHMAN: Started 40 of the 43 games he appeared in, predominantly at third base...Batted .197 (25-for-127) with five doubles and 12 RBI...Posted a .309 on-base percentage...Had seven multi-hit games...Went 3-for-5 with an RBI in 7-2 win at New York Tech (4/11)...Struck out just five times in 76 plate appearances against MAAC pitching. BEFORE

SIENA: An Under Armour Preseason All-American as a senior, an All-State selection, and a two-time All-Conference honoree...Also played ice hockey at Pomperaug, and was a two-time All-Conference selection...Captained both teams as a senior, and both squads won state championships.

ROSSI ON FAY: "Brian was thrust into a starter's role as a freshman after a number of injuries. He struggled most of the year making the adjustment to college ball. With a year under his belt the staff is expecting him to show a marked improvement. He will be moved to first base to add depth to that position. The amount of playing time he receives will be determined by how well he hits once given an opportunity."
