Elliot Glynn was hired as the new baseball assistant/hitting coach at Siena September 16. Glynn was a two-time captain for a Connecticut squad that advanced to the Super Regionals in 2011.

"Elliot is a tremendous addition to our staff," head coach Tony Rossi said upon his hiring. "He brings great Division I experience having played for a program that advanced deep into the NCAA Tournament. He will have instant credibility with the squad."

Glynn helped the Huskies to a school-record 48 wins in 2010. UConn went on to host an NCAA Regional in Norwich, Conn. that season where they were eliminated by Oregon.

In 2011, UConn won the Big East regular season championship and the Clemson Regional before falling to eventual National Champion South Carolina in the Super Regional.

Glynn was named All-New England as a designated hitter in 2008 and Second Team All-Big East and All-New England as a pitcher in 2010. He played two summers in the Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League for the Orleans Cardinals/Firebirds where he was selected to play in the 2009 All Star game at Fenway Park.

Glynn was drafted three times before eventually signing with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011. He spent two seasons in the Brewers' farm system before playing one year in Germany.
