BEFORE SIENA: His high school did not have baseball, so Chaput's experience came from playing summer baseball...Named summer ball Pitcher of the Year for the Bytown Colonels after tossing nine complete games in a row following his senior year...Following his junior year, he pitched for the Ottawa Nepean Canadians and posted a 12-4 record with a 3.53 ERA and 143 strikeouts in 117 2/3 innings of work.
