GENERAL: A stable offensive force who has always responded when given the opportunity. The everyday DH, Castellani is a capable run producer and hits for average. A valuable member of the Siena squad, Castellani is a reserve catcher who can play the infield as well.

STRENGTHS: Versatility, Dependability, Offensive Production

AS A JUNIOR: Castellani transformed from a role player to an everyday starter and consistent producer for the Siena offense this season. In 30 games played, he boasted a .265 batting average and has driven in 11 runs. Castellani has scored 15 runs and compiled seven doubles while reaching base in over 37% of his plate appearances. Ended the season with a slugging percentage of .403.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Played in 26 games both behind the plate and at second base. Compiled a .213 batting average and stole three bases. Had an impressive game against Hartford (4/19) going 2-3 with a home run and two RBI in the Saints victory.

AS A FRESHMAN: Played in only eight games, but hit .375 with five RBI. Best performance of '99 was a four-RBI day vs. Atlantic-10 foe Massachusetts, an 8-6 victory.
