GENERAL...A transfer from Fairfield University, where he ranked as the Stags top offensive force as a sophomore...Great run producer who also hits for average...Will be looked upon for increased offensive production after a transition season as a junior.

AS A JUNIOR...Started 15 games and appeared in 27...Batted .159 with seven runs and four RBI...Collected two doubles and 10 hits overall.

AS A SOPHOMORE...Tops on team with a .302 batting average and 45 RBI in 41 starts...Homered team-high seven times, and drove in team-best 31 runs...Scored 33 runs and drew 19 walks...Made just two errors in 91 defensive chances...On-base percentage (.384) and slugging percentage (.503) also led the team.

AS A FRESHMAN...Batista quickly emerged as one of the team's top run producers, finishing the campaign with four home runs and 24 RBI...He started 27 games in the outfield, and appeared in 39 contests...Secured a base hit in his first game as a collegiate, going one for four as the starting rightfielder against Notre Dame...Registered his first RBI in the Holy Cross game, stroking a double as well as tallying two RBI and scoring two runs...Against UConn, Batista had two hits, including a double, and drove home two base runners...One game later versus Canisius, Batista hit his first home run...He also homered against Central Connecticut, Iona and Niagara.
