GENERAL: Junior college transfer...Adds a steady bat and experience to the Saints outfield...Expected to contribute immediately.

BEFORE SIENA: Hit .303 with team-best 40 hits, 32 RBI and four home runs at Barstow last season...Second Team All-Conference (Southern California Foothills) selection.

ROSSI ON ORTIZ: "Andres comes from the strong Southern California Junior College circuit. He is a strong hitter, who with defensive work, should become a major contributor this spring. How quickly he makes the adjustment to Division I baseball will determine the amount he is able to contribute to the club."
