The MAAC released the 2011 Cross Country All-Academic Teams Monday. The Saints had a total of nine student-athletes who earned All-Academic status.
Five men's runners achieved MAAC All-Academic status which included two seniors and three sophomores. Seniors Ian Donnelly (3.46 - Biology) and David Ellsworth (3.77 - Biochemistry) led the Saints along with sophomores Ryan Egan (3.35 - Actuarial Science), Brendan Gregg (3.30 - Undecided Arts) and Mike Thomas (3.63 - Undecided Business).
Women's honorees included senior Meghan Yi (3.77 - Biology), junior Lia Gizzarelli (3.90 - Biology) and sophomores Samantha D'Amato (3.50 - Undecided Arts) and Sarah Palmer (3.49 - Biology).
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
