Siena Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams finished up a record setting year at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. The men finished eighth as a team, while the women finished 15th.
Sophomore Evans Kibet finished in sixth place with a time of 25:22.4. His time now stands as Siena’s fastest 8K time at Van Cortlandt Park. Junior William Randall came in at 26:19.8 to rank as the third fastest 8K for a Siena male at Van Cortlandt Park. Sophomore Michael Rautter found himself on the Siena fastest 8K at Van Cortlandt Park list as well with his 26:28.0 finish.
Junior Andrew Canavan helped secure the Saints eighth place finish with his 8K finish of 26:46.6. Seniors Shaun VanBuskirk and Travis Fairlee finished up their cross country season donning the Green and Gold with respective times of 26:54.2 and 27:02.5. Sophomore Stosh Davis rounded out the men’s score when he crossed the finish line at 27:29.1.
Junior Sarah Forman led the way for the women in the 5k and finished ninth overall with a time of 18:11.7. Her 5K time is the fastest Siena women’s time at Van Cortlandt Park. Freshman Monica Strain recorded another under-20 minute 5K time with her 19:24.9 finish. Sophomore Carolyn Pellegrini also ran the 5K under 20 minutes when she finished in 19:35.3.
Freshman Morgan Serkes came through the finish line at 20:00.3, while Junior Meghan McDonough found her way through at 20:05.2. Junior Serena Rizzo and Sophomore Sydney Johnson rounded out the Saints scoring with their respective finish times of 20:06.6 and 20:10.3. While Dominica Bleichert did not add to the Saints scoring, the senior capped off a strong cross country career with a 20:18.4 finish.
The Saints ended their cross country season and turn right around to get ready for their third Indoor Track season that begins in January.
