Siena Women Place Fourth in Central Connecticut State Meet

Joan Paul and Michelle Milton finished 14th and 15th respectively in individual competition, pacing a spirited showing by the Siena women's cross country team in the annual Central Connecticut State meet Saturday afternoon. The Siena women finished fourth in a nine-team field that included regional powers Connecticut, Syracuse and Northeasterm. The men's team ended the day in seventh place. Paul and Milton completed the course in 19:49 just ahead of Siena's third place finisher Kelsey Hanno who ended in 19th with a time of 19:54. Kim Milton's time of 20:09 was good enough for 26th place, while Kate Luker rounded out the five Siena finishers in 33rd place with a time of 20:24. The women finished comfortably in fourth place ahead of Holy Cross, Fairfield, Central Connecticut, Southern Connecticut and Hartford. Pat Gaffney led the Siena men with a respectable 20th place finish, completing the course in 28:51. Sophomore Bryan Knifping was the next best Siena finisher, placing 26th, while Bobby Oerzen and Paul Luthin ended in 35th and 36th. Andrew Knifping rounded out Siena's top-five in 31:04.
