Following a day where Siena Men’s and Women’s Track teams set nine personal records, the two teams finished up racing at the Bison Outdoor Classic. On day two, Siena had 11 personal records set.
“We love coming to this meet. Coach Donner and Bucknell have a great facility and they do a fantastic job setting this meet up to provide quality races,” said head coach John Kenworthy. “We’ve had a lot of success coming here to chase personal bests and championship qualifying marks. This year was no different. This meet has become the jumping off point for our season and right now it looks like we are ready to roll into May better than ever.
Every single Saint competing in the 3000m set a personal record on both the men’s and women’s side.
The women started off the day with Meghan McDonough running the event at 10:39.90. Abbi Wright was not far behind with a 10:41.62 time. Anya Schmitt (10:47.13) and Mary McNally (10:57.99) wrapped up the 3000m for the women.
On the men’s side, Matt Jacques finished ninth overall and moved into sixth fastest in outdoor season with his 9:02.05 finish. Jason Linendoll, Chris Estremera and Daniel Medici wound up in eight, ninth and 10th for Siena’s All-Time Outdoor list, respectively. Linendoll came in at 9:0&.77, Estremera at 9:12.61 and Medici at 9:14.13. Michael Carroll finished the event for the Saints and just missed out on the Saints Top-10 with his 9:14.88 time.
The Saints will travel right down the road to UAlbany next Saturday, April 21 for the Albany Spring Invitational.
