Siena Men's and Women's track program competed in the first day of the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University. Siena had six top-20 finishes in the first day.
The men started off day one with the 10000m run. Andrew Canavan took a fifth place finish with a time of 31:33.19, which is just off the IC4A standard, but is a personal best. Shaun VanBuskirk (32:26.31) and Stosh Davis (32:52.75) took respective places of 16th and 22nd in the event.
Sarah Forman finished 13th overall in the 1500m after winning her heat. She broke the school record, which she previously set with a time of 4:28.06.
Serena Rizzo had a season best time of 4:55.59 in the 1500m. Ursula Svoboda ran in 4:59.77 to finish under five minutes for the first time in her collegiate career. Both Meghan McDonough (5:01.65) and Abbi Wright (5:04.13) recorded personal bests.
On the men's side, William Randall recorded a season best finish of 15:16.09 in the 5000m.
Wrapping up the end of day one was Kelly Pasko and Dominica Bleichert in the 10000m. Pasko set a personal record and broke the school record, that she previously set, with a time of 35:11.29 for a fourth place finish. This is also the best time in the MAAC and 38th in NCAA East, the top-48 go to the NCAAs. Bleichert set a personal record of her own with a time of 37:58.05.
The Saints will compete in day two of the event on Saturday, Apr. 15 as both teams will take part in the 800m and the 3000m.
