Men’s DMR & Forman Earn ECAC/IC4A Honors

March 4, 2018

Siena Men’s and Women’s Track concludes their Indoor season on a high note at the ECAC/IC4A Championship.

“Our group had another great day and took a big step forward for the program,” said head coach John Kenworthy. “We had 4 freshman run in the women's DMR and they gained some valuable experience for future years. Sarah showed again she's a savvy and consistent championship racer in the mile final. And the men's DMR broken 10:00 again and scored the first points in program history at this meet. Every year the bar gets raised for our expectations at this meet, and we've consistently met those expectations each time. And that's what pulls our program higher and higher each season.”

The women’s DMR, run by all freshman, finished the second fastest time in Siena history with a 12:23.99 finish. Monica Strain, Holly Bednarek, Jaimie Polanco and Regina Rosati completed the race.

Sophomore Sarah Forman received All-East honors after finishing in eighth place in the mile final. She finished in 4:52.68, just off her personal record she set at the preliminary.

To conclude the day, the men’s DMR team of Travis Fairlee, Luciano Fiore, Jacob Greski and Evans Kibet broke the 10-minute mark again and took 8th. The group earned All-IC4A honors for their finish in the finals.

Siena concludes their indoor season and gets set for outdoor track which is set to begin on March 24 in West Long Branch, New Jersey at the Monmouth Season Opener.
