The spring seasons have come to a close with the men's golf team winning its fourth MAAC title and appearing in its second NCAA Tournament, and baseball making it to its fourth straight MAAC Championship Game.

Of course, the real culmination of the season was commencement when 74 student athletes received their diplomas on stage at the Times Union Center. Women's lacrosse player Lauren Smith was named the College's Student of the Year! Many of our athletes excelled academically, helping 18 of our 22 teams achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or better this spring.

The day after commencement we embarked on the ARC renovation project. The first phase of a multi-phase project began, and by the end of the summer we will have a men's and women's basketball practice court. When all phases are complete, a new student athlete weight room and sports medicine suite will have been added along with indoor hitting cages for softball and baseball. The project will be capped off with the addition of a two-story fitness center addition to the Callanan Field House.

Siena Men's Basketball was again among the top drawing programs in the country, finishing the regular and post season ranked 87 th among 346 Division I schools. Siena continues to be one of the best drawing mid-major programs in the country thanks to its fans. Finally, good news came from the MAAC this spring as the conference presidents voted to extend the stay of the MAAC Basketball Tournament in Albany through 2019.

Have a great summer!
