March Madness will soon give way to spring sports - which have already started - and thoughts about how do we, as a program, get better. You are often the catalyst to our development. Just recently we have received significant support to enhance four team rooms.

The Mark L. Butler Foundation made the enhancements to the men's basketball team room possible. Mark Pfaff, father of former student athlete Brittany `14, donated the funds to renovate the women's soccer team room. Alums Andy Anderson `93 and Christian King `91 were responsible for the complete renovation of the men's lacrosse team room. Siena would not be able to improve and thrive without this type of support.

The men's basketball team has had a much improved year winning 21 games and finishing third in the conference standings. Our young women's basketball team got off to a great start opening MAAC play with a 7-0 record. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAAC tournament. Both teams collected some year-end honors. Junior Javion Ogunyemi was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-League, freshman Nico Clareth was the MAAC's Sixth Man of The Year and named to the All-Rookie team and Brett Bisping was named a unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection and MAAC All-Tournament Team honoree. On the women's side Kollyns Scarbrough was named a Second Team All-MAAC selection and Jackie Benitez led all freshmen in the conference in scoring in earning MAAC All-Rookie team honors. It was the third consecutive year that Siena has had at least one player named to the All-Rookie team.

Not to let athletics overshadow the department's academic success; our student athletes completed a stellar fall semester in the classroom. The fall grade point average for all student athletes was 3.21! This past fall 154 of our 349 athletes were named to either the Deans' List (GPA between 3.3 and 3.549) or the President's list (GPA between 3.55 and 4.0). In addition, 15 student athletes finished their fall semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Thank you to all of our Saints Alive! donors who help make all of this possible.
