SCHENECTADY, NY – Long Island scored four times in the first inning on their way to a 5-0 shutout of Siena Baseball at Central Park.
Christopher Wasson punctuated the decisive four-run first inning with a bases-clearing three-run double for LIU (32-17) which set a new program Division I record with their 32
nd win. Garrett Yawn tossed five scoreless innings and combined with four relievers on the shutout for the Sharks.
Six different players accounted for seven singles – and the lone baserunners – for Siena (11-34) which finished their 2022 home slate. The Saints ended up playing six of their 18 home tilts at Central Park this season, posting an even 3-3 record.
Alex Milone paced Siena offensively with a pair of singles, while
Kyle Lev and
Noah Wieczorek each tossed two scoreless innings of relief.
Brendan Quigley struck out the side in his lone inning of work.
The Saints conclude regular season action later this week, opening a three-game series at Fairfield Thursday at 3 p.m.
