"I am thrilled to be joining the Saints family," Bari said. "I look forward to working with the coaching staffs, administrators and most of all the student athletes here at Siena College."
Prior to joining the Siena Saints, Bari was a graduate assistant in the compliance office at Manhattan College. In his two year stint with the Jaspers, he assisted the Athletic Director of Compliance in monitoring the rules education program. Bari generated and processes the National Letters of Intent and Financial Aid Agreements for prospective student-athletes.
"With his knowledge, attention to detail and work ethic, Steven has been a tremendous asset to our department," Lori Anctil stated. "We've all enjoyed getting to know Steven and appreciate his approach to making Siena Athletics better every day."
He began his compliance career as an intern at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. There he assisted the compliance coordinator with monitoring of CARA/Practice logs. Bari assisted in the development and implementation of the departments while also providing support to coaches, staff and student athletes on NCAA rules interpretation.
Bari worked for the Sun Belt Conference and helped promote different events like the Sun Belt Conference Basketball Championship Tournament and the Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament. When games were broadcasted via ESPN.com through Sun Belt TV, Bari would collect and relay statistical information for the broadcast.
While a student at Louisiana State University -- Eunice, Bari had a multitude of roles. He was a student assistant in the athletic office. He also worked in the University's public relations office where he assisted the Public Relations Director in compiling data, creating document and advertising material for the University. Bari was the social media coordinator for the basketball program. He would create content for social media platforms that would provide additional revenue, advertising and interest. Bari was also the sports editor of the school newspaper The Bayou Bengal. He would write, compile and edit and stories for the sports column.
Bari graduated with his Associates Degree in General Studies from Louisiana State University -- Eunice in May 2010. He then received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2013. Bari is pursuing his Master's in Organizational Leadership at Manhattan College where he is expected to graduate in August 2016.
