“We are pleased to welcome Brandon to the Siena College Department of Athletics after recently completing studies in Sports Management at Cleveland State University,” said Bates. “Brandon possesses good knowledge of intramural and summer camp operations, and will be instrumental in helping build a robust recreation area that services the approximately 3,200 Siena students.”
Sweet served as the Intramural Sports Supervisor and Camp Counselor in the Cleveland State Recreation Center. While there, he scheduled games and hours for teams and officials. Sweet was in charge of working with officials on live training and had to communicate with teams about rules, sportsmanship rating and roster control. He organized all intramural and camp sport equipment, while also having to supervise trainings in the office.
Prior to that he worked as an Athletic Department Intern at Chagrin Falls High School. Sweet had to supervise different athletic events being held including, volleyball, soccer and football. He had to coordinate and set up ticket booths, parking area and the different entry ways for all home games.
Before working at Chagrin Falls High School, Sweet was an Athletic Director/Group Leader and Camp Counselor at Camp Watitoh. He was in charge of supervising children from ages 7-16. Sweet had to coordinate the different events of the camp day such as, Olympic-style games, relays and socials. He also had to supervise all daily activities.
Sweet received his Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Sport Management from Cleveland State in 2016. He was the Intramural Sports Employee of the Year in 2014 and 2016.
