LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Ian Farrell has named Brian Seniw the new assistant strength and conditioning coach. Seniw makes his way back to the Capital Region after spending his undergraduate and postgraduate years at Canisius College.
“I’m excited to have Brian on board to help with the student athlete experience at Siena,” said Farrell. “I’m looking forward to the future successes of the department and with our student athletes.”
Seniw most recently worked as a graduate assistant at Canisius College. During that time, he helped facilitate NSCA Strength and Conditioning workshops, while also representing the Kinesiology Department at local meetings. Seniw presented projects with professors regarding Physical Education material. He aided the professors in the Kinesiology department with research and class work. Seniw was also in charge of conducting fitness tests.
From April until September of 2016, he was the strength and conditioning intern for the Buffalo Bills. Seniw took athletes through different workouts, warm-ups and conditioning workouts. He administered hydration tests, stretched players, and conducted weigh-ins and weigh-outs.
The Latham native is no stranger to Siena has he interned with the Saints in the summer of 2015. During that time he assisted in technique and helped set up and clean equipment for all teams and workouts. He also interned with Niagara and Canisius while completing his undergraduate degree.
Seniw was a two-year captain and four-year student athlete for Canisius’ ice hockey team. He Graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness with a minor in Strength & Conditioning in May 2014. Seniw most recently earned his Master’s in Health and Human Performance with a focus in Strength & Conditioning in May 2016. He is also working on his Master’s in Applied Nutrition with a focus in Sports and Fitness Nutrition.
