Bernie the St. Bernard will compete in the 7th annual mascot race at Saratoga Race Track's open house on Sunday, July 18. The 30th annual open house is presented by New York Racing Association and will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

The mascot race will be on the main track where Bernie will face Damien the Great Dane from UAlbany, Southpaw and Rowdy from the Tri-City ValleyCats, the cat from country radio station 104.9, Cuppie and Donut from Dunkin' Donuts and likenesses of Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings, Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton and Troy Mayor Harry Tutunjian.

Siena Athletics will have a table with Lil' Saint and season ticket information available.

The open house will also feature carnival games, live music, a petting zoo, hurdle races and the Islip Horsemen's Association Long Island Drill Team.
